and ruined the tendrils.Woe to the bloody city, all lies,
full of plunder, whose looting never stops!
The crack of the whip, the rumbling sounds of wheels;
horses a-gallop, chariots bounding,
Cavalry charging, the flame of the sword, the flash of the spear,
the many slain, the heaping corpses,
the endless bodies to stumble upon!
I will cast filth upon you,

and then he will repay each according to his conduct.

who will not taste death
until they see the Son of Man coming in his Kingdom.”

Daily Meditation: Matthew 16:24-28 Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself. (Matthew 16:24) Today’s Gospel directly follows Jesus’ prediction of his death. Even though Jesus was tempted to avoid the suffering that awaited him, he knew it was part of his Father’s plan of salvation for the world—for us—and so he embraced it. In fact, he had to strongly rebuke Peter (famously calling him “Satan”), who was appalled by the idea that his beloved Master would suffer and be killed like a criminal (Matthew 16:23). Now Jesus is asking us to follow in his footsteps—not to embrace martyrdom, unless that is the Lord’s will, but to “deny” ourselves and to “lose” our lives as we follow him (Matthew 16:24, 25). Let’s look at a common everyday situation that can help us see how the Lord might be calling us to do this. Imagine that you are in a tense conversation with someone, perhaps at work or at home or driving your child to school. You see things one way, and they see them another. You both feel very strongly about your opinion. As the conversation continues, you find yourself bewildered—how can they not see that they’re wrong? In the moment, or perhaps a little later, you turn to God and you ask him to help you. As you do, the Holy Spirit enables you to step back from your strong reaction and viewpoint, and you begin to see things differently. Maybe you realize that you have a very different personality and way to approach life’s circumstances than the other person. Your upbringing and life experience—both positive and negative—are different from the other person’s. And the opportunities that you’ve been given—whether many or few—have given you a lens through which you view many situations, including this one. This perspective helps you. Now you see that the best approach to the conflict is to choose humility. You resolve in your heart to “deny” yourself and “lose” your life a little bit. You decide to deny the drive to defend yourself and you lose the urge to be proven right at all costs. You decide to apologize, if necessary, and to see the good in the other person. Being right isn’t the point; following Jesus is. How is Jesus leading you to follow in his footsteps of humility? “Lord, help me deny myself and find fulfillment in following you.” Nahum 2:1, 3; 3:1-3, 6-7

Our Lord said some heavy stuff this day.
"Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself,
take up his cross, and follow me.
For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it,
but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
What profit would there be for one to gain the whole world
and forfeit his life? "
Our Lord said many things to us before ascending.
He wanted us to preach and baptize all nations. Ok?
He said that in the world we would have trouble. Ok?
Do not be surprised at troubles! Ok?
He said today, though, TAKE UP YOUR CROSS, and what? Follow Him!
Both parts are hard though!
Ain't nobody trying to suffer on purpose, amen? We all want the easy life! We all want trouble free lives, amen?
LOL.
But that easy life leads to perdition...and loss of extreme amounts of souls and soul saving opportunities. God counts those times you attempt to save souls. It is not on you, you do your job and let the fruits be handled by Him! Amen?

Our Lord said though, before ascending: "TAKE HEART. FOR I HAVE CONQUUERED THE WORLD". Now what? It means, His vineyard is all HIS. Fruits though...me and you...labor, yes, labor calls for blood, sweat, and tears, Amen? We can do this with Him whom strengthens us and loves us for uniting our crosses together...
