† Saint Quote:“If you do not hope, you will not find what is beyond your hopes.” -St. Clement Today’s Meditation
"Prayer is greatly aided by fasting and watching and every kind of bodily chastisement. In this regard each of you must do what you can. Thus, the weaker will not hold back the stronger, and the stronger will not press the weaker. You owe your conscience to God. But to no one else do you owe anything more except that you love one another." —St. Augustine, p. 143
An excerpt from Augustine Day by Day Daily VerseTo whom then will you compare me, that I should be like him? says the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high and see: who created these? He who brings out their host by number, calling them all by name; by the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power not one is missing. -Isaiah 40:25-26

St Bernardine Of SienaSt. Bernardine of Siena (1380–1444) was born to a noble family in Siena, Italy. As a young man he witnessed the bubonic plague raging mercilessly through the city, and volunteered to care for the sick in the local hospital. At this time he also spent much time praying and fasting to know God's will for his life. He discerned a call to Holy Orders and the religious life, and joined the Franciscans at the age of 22. He lived in solitude for over a decade before being sent to preach in the streets, which he did with incredible skill, so much so that he became the most renowned preacher of his day. He traveled on foot to strife-torn cities, attacking sin and paganism and encouraging all to a life of faith and virtue. Huge crowds numbering in the tens of thousands would come to hear him preach in the public square. His fame and effectiveness as a preacher caused the pope to compare him to St. Paul the Apostle. Bernardine was especially known for his devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and for promulgating devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus. It was he who devised the IHS symbol over a blazing sun as a monogram and logo for the Holy Name of Jesus (in Greek) to replace the public display of insignias of rival family tribes which disturbed the peace. This symbol of Christ began appearing in churches and on public buildings, even to this day. He also served as the head of his Franciscan community. When he began there were 300 friars; when he died there were over 4,000. St. Bernardine's feast day is May 20th.

Wednesday of the Seventh Week of EasterLectionary: 299 Reading 1Acts 20:28-38 At Miletus, Paul spoke to the presbyters of the Church of Ephesus:
“Keep watch over yourselves and over the whole flock
of which the Holy Spirit has appointed you overseers,
in which you tend the Church of God
that he acquired with his own Blood.
I know that after my departure savage wolves will come among you,
and they will not spare the flock.
And from your own group, men will come forward perverting the truth
to draw the disciples away after them.
So be vigilant and remember that for three years, night and day,
I unceasingly admonished each of you with tears.
And now I commend you to God
and to that gracious word of his that can build you up
and give you the inheritance among all who are consecrated.
I have never wanted anyone’s silver or gold or clothing.
You know well that these very hands
have served my needs and my companions.
In every way I have shown you that by hard work of that sort
we must help the weak,
and keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus who himself said,
‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” When he had finished speaking
he knelt down and prayed with them all.
They were all weeping loudly
as they threw their arms around Paul and kissed him,
for they were deeply distressed that he had said
that they would never see his face again.
Then they escorted him to the ship. Responsorial PsalmPsalm 68:29-30, 33-35a, 35bc-36ab R. (33a) Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth.

Show forth, O God, your power,
the power, O God, with which you took our part;
For your temple in Jerusalem
let the kings bring you gifts.
R. Sing to God, O Kingdoms of the earth.
or:

You kingdoms of the earth, sing to God,
chant praise to the Lord
who rides on the heights of the ancient heavens.
Behold, his voice resounds, the voice of power:
“Confess the power of God!”
R. Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth.

Over Israel is his majesty;
his power is in the skies.
Awesome in his sanctuary is God, the God of Israel;
he gives power and strength to his people.

Your word, O Lord, is truth;
consecrate us in the truth.
R. Alleluia, alleluia. GospelJohn 17:11b-19 Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed, saying:
“Holy Father, keep them in your name
that you have given me,
so that they may be one just as we are one.
When I was with them I protected them in your name that you gave me,
and I guarded them, and none of them was lost
except the son of destruction,
in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
But now I am coming to you.
I speak this in the world
so that they may share my joy completely.
I gave them your word, and the world hated them,
because they do not belong to the world
any more than I belong to the world.
I do not ask that you take them out of the world
but that you keep them from the Evil One.
They do not belong to the world
any more than I belong to the world.
Consecrate them in the truth.
Your word is truth.
As you sent me into the world,
so I sent them into the world.
And I consecrate myself for them,
so that they also may be consecrated in truth.”

Daily Meditation: John 17:11-19They do not belong to the world. (John 17:16) Not once, but twice, as he prays for his disciples at the Last Supper, Jesus proclaims that they no longer “belong to the world” (John 17:14, 16). He has spent so much time teaching them and preparing them to become evangelists and leaders of his Church. Now they are not the same as when they first followed him. Being with him for so long has transformed them and their sense of belonging. Their true home is no longer this world; it’s the kingdom of heaven. Did you know that you don’t belong to the world, either? It’s true. Through the grace of Baptism, you have been “delivered . . . from the power of darkness and transferred . . . to the kingdom of [God’s] beloved Son” (Colossians 1:13). You, too, belong to heaven! Remember this every time you are struggling with the temptations of this world or every time you feel like a stranger in a strange land. Remember that no matter how you may feel, you have all the rights and privileges that every citizen of heaven enjoys: ▪ You have the right to enter the presence of God at any time “to receive mercy and to find grace for timely help” (Hebrews 4:16). Nothing can keep you from the Lord or his boundless grace!
▪ You have the privilege, as you gaze on the Lord in prayer, of being “transformed into the same image from glory to glory” (2 Corinthians 3:18). Every time you turn to the Lord, he draws you closer to the full glory of heaven.
▪ You have the right to call God, the Creator of all, “Abba, Father!” (Romans 8:15). That’s because you truly are his child, a coheir with Christ himself.
▪ You have the privilege of calling St. Paul, Thérèse of Lisieux, Carlo Acutis, and every other saint your brother or sister. They are your “fellow citizens,” and together you are “members of the household of God” (Ephesians 2:19). No matter your situation, you are never alone!

From today's Holy Gospel: "...... I do not ask that you take them out of the world
but that you keep them from the Evil One.
They do not belong to the world
any more than I belong to the world.
Consecrate them in the truth.
Your word is truth.

so I sent them into the world.
And I consecrate myself for them,
so that they also may be consecrated in truth.” ..... ”

From Roberto Juarez: "Today the Lord invites us to three very concrete things: to care for unity, to live in the truth and to assume our mission in the world. Let us pray that we will remain united to God and with each other, that the Holy Spirit will sustain us in the midst of difficulties, and that our lives will reflect the Gospel. And may the prayer of Jesus of Nazareth come true in us: "That they may be one." So that the world may discover, through our life and our communion, the living presence of Christ." So what's up with this world we live in? Right? For some, they find themselves in a world of turmoil.
Others, a pretty normal, not too many problems world. Others are in physical needs, in dire need of healing. And the problems each encounters are endless.
But our Lord is asking us to venture with Him in this world that HE Created! WOW. I was conversing with our Lord, (you DO know you can speak with Him right?). As I paused my tremendous duties, looking to the sky. I said "you know, like my dad's presence, physically, it is a missing thing now that he passed away, and so, how can we make sense of someone's physical presence not being there and still try to have that connection?" And He said "Am I not with you in My Presence? If you want a physical presence, go to Adoration of My Blessed Sacrament. And aside from that, I am with You, how else do you believe Heaven shall be? That I never leave your side in Heaven? I AM everywhere! Even on earth...I AM". I had no more words. I just had to let that sink in. We are going to have to go into deep faith...called...deep love. Oh Lord, help us Love Thee more and more, both now and forever!

Random Bible Verse 1
Matthew 22:37–39 "And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
