†Saint Quote
"Never say, 'What great things the saints do,' but, 'What great things God does in His saints.'"
–St. Philip Neri

†Today's Meditation
"Out of the darkness of my life, so much frustrated, I put before you the one great thing to love on earth: The Blessed Sacrament … There you will find romance, glory, honor, fidelity, and the true way of all your loves on earth, and more than that: Death. By the divine paradox, that which ends life, and demands the surrender of all, and yet by the taste (or foretaste) of which alone can what you seek in your earthly relationships (love, faithfulness, joy) be maintained, or take on that complexion of reality, of eternal endurance, which every man's heart desires."
—J.R.R. Tolkien, p. 119

†Daily Verse
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."
–Philippians 4:8

St. Deborah

St. Deborah (11th c. B.C.) was a godly widow and saint of the Old Testament. She was a courageous prophetess and champion of the Israelites. All Israel came to her to judge their disputes, and God prophesied to Israel through her. She was Israel's only female judge. Her role as the military leader who defended the Israelites is commemorated in the Bible's "Song of Deborah." It was her military counter-attack against Sisera at Mount Tabor that successfully delivered Israel's enemies into their hands. As prophetess, she foretold that Israel would have peace for 40 years following this victory. St. Ambrose and St. Jerome observed that St. Deborah is a good role model for the encouragement of courageous, godly women. Her feast day is November 1st.

Solemnity of All Saints

Reading I Rv 7:2-4, 9-14

I, John, saw another angel come up from the East,
holding the seal of the living God.
He cried out in a loud voice to the four angels
who were given power to damage the land and the sea,
"Do not damage the land or the sea or the trees
until we put the seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God."
I heard the number of those who had been marked with the seal,
one hundred and forty-four thousand marked
from every tribe of the children of Israel.
After this I had a vision of a great multitude,
which no one could count,
from every nation, race, people, and tongue.
They stood before the throne and before the Lamb,
wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands.
They cried out in a loud voice:

"Salvation comes from our God, who is seated on the throne,

and from the Lamb."
All the angels stood around the throne
and around the elders and the four living creatures.
They prostrated themselves before the throne,
worshiped God, and exclaimed:

"Amen. Blessing and glory, wisdom and thanksgiving,

honor, power, and might

be to our God forever and ever. Amen."
Then one of the elders spoke up and said to me,
"Who are these wearing white robes, and where did they come from?"
I said to him, "My lord, you are the one who knows."
He said to me,

"These are the ones who have survived the time of great distress;

they have washed their robes

and made them white in the Blood of the Lamb."

Responsorial Psalm 24:1bc-2, 3-4ab, 5-6

R. (see 6) Lord, this is the people that longs to see your face.
The LORD's are the earth and its fullness;

the world and those who dwell in it.
For he founded it upon the seas

and established it upon the rivers.
R. Lord, this is the people that longs to see your face.
Who can ascend the mountain of the LORD?

or who may stand in his holy place?
One whose hands are sinless, whose heart is clean,

who desires not what is vain.
R. Lord, this is the people that longs to see your face.
He shall receive a blessing from the LORD,

a reward from God his savior.
Such is the race that seeks him,

that seeks the face of the God of Jacob.
R. Lord, this is the people that longs to see your face.

Reading II 1 Jn 3:1-3

Beloved:
See what love the Father has bestowed on us
that we may be called the children of God.
Yet so we are.
The reason the world does not know us
is that it did not know him.
Beloved, we are God's children now;
what we shall be has not yet been revealed.
We do know that when it is revealed we shall be like him,
for we shall see him as he is.
Everyone who has this hope based on him makes himself pure,
as he is pure.

Alleluia Mt 11:28

R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened,
and I will give you rest, says the Lord.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Gospel Mt 5:1-12a

When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain,
and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him.
He began to teach them, saying:

"Blessed are the poor in spirit,

for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they who mourn,

for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,

for they will inherit the land.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

for they will be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful,

for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the clean of heart,

for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,

for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,

for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you

and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me.

Rejoice and be glad,

for your reward will be great in heaven."

Daily Meditation: Revelation 7:2-4, 9-14

I had a vision of a great multitude. (Revelation 7:9)

Are you ready to make a new heavenly friend?

Today, when we celebrate all the saints, you can choose from myriads. God's friends are as diverse as his creativity. A man or a woman. A young child or someone who lived a hundred years. One who lived alone in the desert or one who raised a large family. A talented musician, an uneducated laborer, an entrepreneur, or someone who never left his sickbed. One who seemed to follow a straight path, or one who tried every form of sin before finding her true purpose.

How do you go about making such a friend? Begin by reading about the life of this saint. See if you can find something they have written. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand and apply their wisdom to your own situation. Notice the way the saint conformed their life to Jesus and followed him, and let them teach you to do the same.

Then open your heart in prayer and share with this saint about your own journey. Ask your new friend to rejoice with you about the good things and console you and intercede for you about the tough ones. Every time you encounter a new challenge in the course of your day, send up a quick "Pray for me."

As you learn more about your saint, you may be inspired by their holiness. You may begin to see how God wants you to grow. That's what the saints do: they inspire a desire for greater holiness and spur us on to know the Lord.

God is calling you to occupy a unique place of your own in this company of the holy ones. What's more, he's empowering you to manifest his love in a way no one else can. And the saints are cheering you on; they're all ready to be your companions on your journey.

What wonderful company you've been invited to keep!

"All you holy men and women, pray for us!"

Psalm 24:1-6
1 John 3:1-3
Matthew 5:1-12

From today's 1st Holy Scripture:
_" "These are the ones who have survived the time of great distress;

they have washed their robes

and made them white in the Blood of the Lamb."_

I was thinking yesterday, how things are backwards in Heaven. Like, gold here, so precious on earth, because of how rare it is, but, Heaven has streets made of gold. And here on earth, suffering is looked as something to fear, but in Heaven, our suffering is the most precious thing...worth is different. So how can we balance things out? Our priorities should be in line with Heaven. Suffering is worth more than gold. Does this make sense? God is rich. We can enrich ourselves in Him. We are saints in training.

psalms

We pray today;
_" Lord, this is the people that longs to see your face.
Who can ascend the mountain of the LORD?

or who may stand in his holy place?
One whose hands are sinless, whose heart is clean,

who desires not what is vain."_
In a grim outlook on life, and of Heaven, nobody gets to enter Heaven...only the perfect, and sinless. Well, then, that'd mean that only Jesus and Mary are in Heaven.
In a distorted view, there are those that say everybody goes to Heaven, with the chant "I'm OK, You're Ok, We're Ok". This is a do-nothing take on spiritual life. So what is the truth? Who is the truth? Who is speaking the truth? The truth is our Lord Jesus, in whom all of our lives are stake in...for He is King.

2cents2

In the Gospel today we heard our Master and Teacher:
_"Blessed are the clean of heart,

for they will see God."_

When will they see God? When their hearts are clean! The vast majority of believers and would-be believers fail to really believe because they do not see...God.
But the truth is, you first got to believe. A clean heart will clean up your body and your eyes, and you will see. What I can make out with my blurry eyes is that we cannot pin God as if to be one thing. He is ALL Things. That is why He says "I AM who Am" when asked for His name. Therefore, we, creations, cannot begin to fathom what He is, but we have an image of Him in our Lord Jesus. Want to see our Father, what He is like? Who He is like? Look no further than Jesus, the stock of Who He Is.
Today, we celebrate ALL SAINTS.
One thing said has always been on my mind. They said "only saints are in Heaven".
So, if this is true, then, we must celebrate not only the saints and all of Heaven today, but we celebrate ourselves whom are called to be saints with the saints in Heaven.
So, Saint my child, rejoice, for this is the day the Lord hath made. It feels to me, like we live in a world of second chances. I woke up, and you woke up another day, to live another life. Thousands of lifes we get to live. We get to practice Heaven on earth, that is, to live God's holy will.
Am I doing God's will? Here's a simple answer or teaching to do God's will: Love Him with all you got. That's it! Everything else will follow suit. Everything stems from this greatest commandment, to Love Him and love all else in His name.

.................
Lord, you call me to be Yours. Why do you love Me? I don't deserve to be loved like You do, but You still chase me, and You want me. For what? Just to love You? If You have saints and angels in Heaven, why need for me? There's only one answer I see: That you have a growing love that extends eternally. You have a real need of love to be filled. If then, this is the case, then by all means, I love Thee! USE ME!

All Saints In Heaven, Pray For US!
All Saints on Earth, Live out our Prayer!
