God is our refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in distress.

and spilled the coins of the money-changers
and overturned their tables,
and to those who sold doves he said,
"Take these out of here,
and stop making my Father's house a marketplace."
His disciples recalled the words of Scripture, Zeal for your house will consume me.
At this the Jews answered and said to him,
"What sign can you show us for doing this?"
Jesus answered and said to them,
"Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up."
The Jews said,
"This temple has been under construction for forty-six years,
and you will raise it up in three days?"
But he was speaking about the temple of his Body.
Therefore, when he was raised from the dead,
his disciples remembered that he had said this,
and they came to believe the Scripture
and the word Jesus had spoken.
| Daily Meditation: John 2:13-22 Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up. (John 2:19) "Built to Last." The Ford Motor Company used this slogan to advertise its trucks for many years. It was a very successful ad campaign—but why? Because as we know, many things don't last. So many things fall apart faster than we'd like—not just our cars, but our appliances, our furniture, even our homes. So it's great to find something that is well-built, sturdy, and reliable. On this feast of the Dedication of St. John Lateran, we are indeed celebrating something that is "built to last"—the Church! Dedicated in AD 324, the Basilica of St. John Lateran is the world's oldest church. It is the cathedra, or "chair," of the Bishop of Rome, the pope. It is essentially the "home church" for all the world's Catholics. But as amazing as that is, it's not the real reason we are celebrating today. We are celebrating because this particular church turns our thoughts toward a home that will never disappear. Of course, the basilica will one day decay—as will all of our churches. That's because a church building is not our eternal home. But inside each church is a tabernacle, where Jesus dwells. He is our eternal home. He is the One who brings God and his people together as one—something we are reminded of every time we enter a church. Every church, in fact, shows us that our eternal home is with God, in Christ. So the next time you're longing for something that will last, get to church! Turn your attention toward the tabernacle, where Christ dwells under the humble appearance of bread and wine. Take a moment to be still and trust that the Lord will never leave you. Let his presence nourish you and make you secure in knowing that you have a home with Christ that is "built to last"—forever. "Lord, I praise you for your steadfast faithfulness. May I learn to trust you in every situation. You are the rock on which I stand! | From today's 1st Holy Scripture:

They say that our Lord's body was facing the directions of Scripture. And water flowed out of His side. And from that flow of water, the salty seas became a place of life where it met. God's life water pours out. Ever wondered what fuels Heaven? What fuels life after life on earth? There's gotta be a source right? It is God. | We pray today;
"Mountains plunge into the depths of the sea. The waters of the river gladden the city of God, the holy dwelling of the Most High! There is a stream whose runlets gladden the city of God, the holy dwelling of the Most High. God is in its midst; it shall not be disturbed; God will help it at the break of dawn."
And they say beauty is in perfection. Right? Flawless? Right? Now think the beauty God sees...in purity...and in beautiful faith. Here and now hear, God is beautifying His temple...yours. | In the Gospel today we heard our Master and Teacher:
"'"Take these out of here,
and stop making my Father's house a marketplace."
His disciples recalled the words of Scripture..." What was our Lord driving out of the temple? Evil. He was driving out the thwarted thoughts of men, deviated from the truth and the mark, and they say that the word "sin" in the original language means to "miss the mark".
And so, we've much to learn here.
Our Lord can drive out what is messing us up...if we allow Him into our temple.. Would you allow Him to destroy the temple you've built up of your life? Do you know He can REALLY reside in you? Do you allow Him to work in you? Let us focus on what is at hand here. God's will.
"...stop making my Father's house a marketplace."
And so we are in our world, obsessed with consumerism, buying stuff always. I've noticed that depressed people especially love to buy stuff, to get a "high" of joy, for a little bit, when something new comes, and then it fades away. Why can't we be eternally joyful? How? Be eternally grateful. Let God do what He wants in you....live inside of You, and drive out evil, and make the world more lit up...with HIS life...His light. | .................
