† "They will look upon.."

Quote of the Day

"All the science of the Saints is included in these two things: To do, and to suffer. And whoever has done these two things best, has made himself most saintly." — Saint Francis de Sales

Today's Meditation

"All of the Beatitudes are humbling. And this is scarcely a thing to be marveled at. For the Beatitudes are Jesus' personally programmed Christian living. And He has told us the reason that He lived and loved as He did: that is, lived unto death and loved unto the end. "Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them unto the end" (John 13:1). It was because He was meek and humble of heart." —Mother Francis, PCC, p. 71

An excerpt from Blessed Are You

Daily Verse

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For in him were created all things in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things were created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together." — Colossians 1:15-17

Bl Anne Of St. Bartholomew

Bl. Anne of St. Bartholomew (1549–1626) was born in Spain, one of seven children. Her parents died when the plague swept through Spain, leaving her an orphan at the age of ten. She then became a shepherdess tending her brother's sheep. From a young age she had an extraordinary spiritual life, including being graced with many visions. In one of them the Blessed Virgin Mary told her she would become a nun, which was further encouraged by a vision of Jesus. When she tried to enter the monastery she was turned away for being too young. Years later, when her family tried to arrange her marriage, she finally entered the Carmelite monastery at the age of 21, the same one in which St. Teresa of Avila lived. St. Teresa chose Anne as her personal secretary and assistant, even though she had to teach Anne how to write. For five years St. Anne was the companion of St. Teresa of Avila, traveling with her and assisting her in the establishment of new foundations. It was in Anne's arms that St. Teresa died in 1582. After Teresa's death, Anne assisted in the foundation of several other monasteries in France, becoming prioress at three of them. She went on to found a monastery in the Netherlands where she remained until her death. After her death over 150 approved miracles (and more that have not been officially approved) were attributed to her intercession. Her feast day is June 7th.

Solemnity of Most Sacred Heart of Jesus

Reading 1 Hos 11:1, 3-4, 8c-9

Thus says the LORD:
When Israel was a child I loved him,
out of Egypt I called my son.
Yet it was I who taught Ephraim to walk,
who took them in my arms;
I drew them with human cords,
with bands of love;
I fostered them like one
who raises an infant to his cheeks;
Yet, though I stooped to feed my child,
they did not know that I was their healer.

My heart is overwhelmed,
my pity is stirred.
I will not give vent to my blazing anger,
I will not destroy Ephraim again;
For I am God and not a man,
the Holy One present among you;
I will not let the flames consume you.

Responsorial Psalm Is 12:2-3, 4, 5-6.

R. (3) You will draw water joyfully from the springs of salvation.
God indeed is my savior;
I am confident and unafraid.
My strength and my courage is the LORD,
and he has been my savior.
With joy you will draw water
at the fountain of salvation.
R. You will draw water joyfully from the springs of salvation.
Give thanks to the LORD, acclaim his name;
among the nations make known his deeds,
proclaim how exalted is his name.
R. You will draw water joyfully from the springs of salvation.
Sing praise to the LORD for his glorious achievement;
let this be known throughout all the earth.
Shout with exultation, O city of Zion,
for great in your midst
is the Holy One of Israel!
R. You will draw water joyfully from the springs of salvation.

Reading 2 Eph 3:8-12, 14-19

Brothers and sisters:
To me, the very least of all the holy ones, this grace was given,
to preach to the Gentiles the inscrutable riches of Christ,
and to bring to light for all what is the plan of the mystery
hidden from ages past in God who created all things,
so that the manifold wisdom of God
might now be made known through the church
to the principalities and authorities in the heavens.
This was according to the eternal purpose
that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord,
in whom we have boldness of speech
and confidence of access through faith in him.

For this reason I kneel before the Father,
from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named,
that he may grant you in accord with the riches of his glory
to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner self,
and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith;
that you, rooted and grounded in love,
may have strength to comprehend with all the holy ones
what is the breadth and length and height and depth,
and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge,
so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Alleluia Mt 11:29ab

R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Take my yoke upon you, says the Lord;
and learn from me, for I am meek and gentle of heart.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Or

1 Jn 4:10b

R. Alleluia, alleluia.
God first loved us
and sent his Son as expiation for our sins.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Gospel Jn 19:31-37

Since it was preparation day,
in order that the bodies might not remain on the cross on the sabbath,
for the sabbath day of that week was a solemn one,
the Jews asked Pilate that their legs be broken
and they be taken down.
So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first
and then of the other one who was crucified with Jesus.
But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead,
they did not break his legs,
but one soldier thrust his lance into his side,
and immediately blood and water flowed out.
An eyewitness has testified, and his testimony is true;
he knows that he is speaking the truth,
so that you also may come to believe.
For this happened so that the Scripture passage might be fulfilled:
Not a bone of it will be broken.
And again another passage says:
They will look upon him whom they have pierced.

Daily Meditation: Hosea 11:1, 3-4, 8-9

My heart is overwhelmed, my pity is stirred. (Hosea 11:8)

Heart emojis—they're everywhere. We use them to indicate that we "love" a post on social media. We use them in messaging apps to show affection or support for someone we care about. They even show up in parish bulletins!

But the Sacred Heart of Jesus is more than a symbol of affection or support. It's a revelation! It shows us the fundamental attitude of love that God has for us, his children. As we take time to consider the heart of Jesus, we can learn more deeply what God's love is like.

It's a love that initiates. In today's first reading, God doesn't wait for his people to come to him. He says, "I took them in my arms; I drew them." He was, to them, "like one who raises an infant to his cheeks" (Hosea 11:3, 4). Even though we were as helpless as an infant, our God bent down to raise us up and shower his tenderness upon us!

It's a love that doesn't demand to be acknowledged. It pours itself out regardless of our awareness. "Though I stooped to feed my child, they did not know that I was their healer" (Hosea 11:4). Even when we are unaware of the One helping us, he still reaches out to heal and sustain us!

It's a love that overflows with mercy. When God's people broke his covenant and relied on alliances with foreign powers, the Lord proclaimed, "My heart is overwhelmed, my pity is stirred. I will not give vent to my blazing anger" (Hosea 11:8-9). Even when we turn aside from him, Jesus offers us his mercy and calls us back.

It's a love that never stops giving. In today's Gospel, we see the heart of Jesus being pierced after he had died. We see how "blood and water flowed out" from that heart (John 19:34). His blood has cleansed us from all our sins, and his water has given us birth into new life. Even in his last act before burial, Jesus kept giving of himself in order to bring us life!

This is what Jesus' love is like. So gaze at his Sacred Heart today and let him show you his tenderness and generous mercy.

"Jesus, I am amazed by all the love in your heart!"

(Psalm) Isaiah 12:2-6
Ephesians 3:8-12, 14-19

Reflections with Brother Adrian:

2cents2

In the Holy Scripture we hear today:
"But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead,
they did not break his legs,
but one soldier thrust his lance into his side,
and immediately blood and water flowed out.
An eyewitness has testified, and his testimony is true;
he knows that he is speaking the truth,
so that you also may come to believe......."
end quote.

From Bishop Barron today:
"Friends, in today's Gospel, John tells us that a Roman soldier, in order to verify that Jesus was dead, thrust a lance into the side of the crucified Christ, "and immediately blood and water flowed out." Physicians tell us that this is a credible account, given that the lance would have pierced the pericardium, the sac around the heart, which contains a watery substance.
What does this event mean? Theologians have speculated that the blood and water have a symbolic valence, evoking the sacraments of Eucharist and Baptism.
But which first-century Jew would have missed the most obvious interpretation? This was the fulfillment of Ezekiel's prophecy that when Yahweh cleansed his temple, water would flow forth for the renewal of the world......." end quote Bishop Barron.

Guys! Today is so special!

Turn off the news of the world that has you paralyzed in fear for just a moment!
This is the Good News!
What is it? The Word! The Word of God! And today we celebrate HIS HEART! How special is that? VERY!
It is the very Heart of God! It is scientifically proven in Eucharistic Miracles! The Heart of God is alive!

We just received Him in Mass, and He is pulsating through me and I asked Him inside of me to speak to us all.
He is telling us something right now with all that you have read and heard today. What did He tell you today?
Remember yesterday I said that an action speaks volumes?

We heard about the action of our Lord Jesus on the Cross.
He is speaking through us through actions. Movements in the world and the action He has done for a forever message.
Why do you Catholics have Jesus crucified on crosses?

We didn't do that? Our evil did that! And the message of the cross continues on to the message of His heart.

Yes He was crucified, but the next verses go on to His heart. And the next verses have the pierced heart go into Mary's arms. And the next verses take His heart to the tomb, and He transcends realms of hell and the afterlife to resurrect lives, and people actually rose from graves at this time, and the next verses show Him fully alive and well in our world for many days, and next verses show us Him ascending to the Father, His Father and Your Father.
And now? His Heart descends in the Holy Spirit. Into Your heart...where two hearts can unite.

So, isn't this day so very special?
To the world it means very little, but to you?
Me and my wife tried to fulfill America Needs Fatima organization wishes by putting up a billboard of the Sacred Heart of Jesus locally.
I called the reps about a billboard here close to us on the highway we live on, the billboard has been available for over a year since it was put up new. They answered, and then...never replied. I practically begged them to let me post a billboard for the month of June, but they stopped responding.

If it would've been a sign about anything else, I wonder if they probably would've let me. But as it stands, here 3 weeks later, and already into the month of June, no replies. My couple thousand dollars weren't accepted to post a sign of my love to you, My Lord. Am I saddened? No.
My love burns inside of me. The Eucharist causes tears to come out of my eyes as my heart burns speaking about Him and His love for you and for me. He is making my heart hurt, and this squeezes love out.
Therefore, I love the next person I encounter with the love and grace of Our Father in Heaven.
If you are reading this, see the image of the billboard sign I wanted. One day we will have such things posted even for free because somebody loves Jesus back that much.

SACRED HEART OF JESUS, Be My Love.
It is first Friday. We will pray these words today, the Sacred Heart prayers and litanies to honor Him and praise Him.
He loves it when you pray with Him.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, Be My Salvation!

Sacred Heart of Jesus, Help us Love Thee More and More!
