–James 1:19-20 |  click to read more | | St. Francis Borgia St. Francis Borgia (1510-1572) was born in Spain to a noble family, the son of a Duke. On his father's side of the family he was the great-grandson of Pope Alexander VI, one of the notorious "Borgia Popes," and on his mother's side he was the great-grandson of King Ferdinand of Aragon. Francis joined the Spanish court of King Charles V at the age of 18, married, and had 8 children. In 1539 he experienced a profound religious conversion which caused him to renounce the pomp of the royal court, yet he continued his life of public service as the Viceroy of Catalonia. He made great progress in the spiritual life, and after his father's death he became the Duke of Gandia. He built a university and invited the newly-founded Society of Jesus to work in his duchy. After the death of his wife, and after providing for his children, he joined the Jesuits in Rome and was given a prominent position in the order by St. Ignatius of Loyola. Under Francis' leadership and reforms, the Jesuits advanced to such a great extent that he is considered to be their second founder. In the years following Ignatius' death, Francis became head of the order and established Jesuit missions in multiple countries. He also counseled his missionaries in both practical strategies as well as spiritual discipline. St. Francis of Borgia was a celebrated preacher and a key figure in the Counter-Reformation movement. "Set out for the great city of Nineveh,
and announce to it the message that I will tell you."
So Jonah made ready and went to Nineveh,
according to the LORD's bidding.
Now Nineveh was an enormously large city;
it took three days to go through it.
Jonah began his journey through the city,
and had gone but a single day's walk announcing,
"Forty days more and Nineveh shall be destroyed,"
when the people of Nineveh believed God;
they proclaimed a fast and all of them, great and small,
put on sackcloth. When the news reached the king of Nineveh,
he rose from his throne, laid aside his robe,
covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in the ashes.
Then he had this proclaimed throughout Nineveh,
by decree of the king and his nobles:
"Neither man nor beast, neither cattle nor sheep,
shall taste anything;
they shall not eat, nor shall they drink water.
Man and beast shall be covered with sackcloth
and call loudly to God;
every man shall turn from his evil way
and from the violence he has in hand.
Who knows, God may relent and forgive,
and withhold his blazing wrath,
so that we shall not perish."
When God saw by their actions how they turned from their evil way,
he repented of the evil that he had threatened to do to them;

where a woman whose name was Martha welcomed him.
She had a sister named Mary
who sat beside the Lord at his feet listening to him speak.
Martha, burdened with much serving, came to him and said,
"Lord, do you not care
that my sister has left me by myself to do the serving?
Tell her to help me."
The Lord said to her in reply,
"Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things.
There is need of only one thing.
Mary has chosen the better part
and it will not be taken from her."
| Daily Meditation: Luke 10:38-42 Martha, burdened with much serving, came to him. (Luke 10:40) This is such an ordinary and relatable scene in the Gospel of Luke. There is no sign or miracle, no confrontation with Pharisees, no thought-provoking parable. Instead, it is a portrait of our Lord in everyday life. He is simply among friends, enjoying their company. It's a good reminder that Jesus is there with us, too, in our day-to-day routines. Yet we know how often his presence can be obscured by the tasks that clamor for our attention. Chances are, you have been Martha at some point, "burdened with much serving" (Luke 10:40). Maybe that phrase describes you today—in the workplace or in your home or faith community. You could be striving to perform or be productive; you could be trying to meet your own expectations or those placed on you by someone else. Maybe, like Martha, you're keeping it together, but you can feel the resentment simmering. And it's a completely understandable reaction, especially if you feel like "my sister [or brother] has left me by myself" (10:40), and you are taking on more than your fair share of the load. In Martha's case, she decides to speak up. It's easy to see her in a negative light here as she registers her complaint about her sister. But the important thing is this: when Martha was burdened, she "came to him" (Luke 10:40). Even in her exhaustion and annoyance, instead of lashing out at Mary, she goes to Jesus. She doesn't hold back about how she is feeling. She puts it all in his lap and asks him to intervene. Where do you turn when you are feeling like Martha? To Jesus? Do you ask him to help you reorient your priorities, as he did for Martha? Let him bring your gaze back to himself. Let him remind you that he is there in the busyness; indeed, he is in and among the ones whom you serve. Jesus is always "the better part," whether you find him in quiet contemplation or in acts of service (Luke 10:42). So when you feel burdened today, take a moment to come to Jesus and find rest in his presence. And if you're in the middle of something that can't wait, trust that you can even find him there. "Jesus, help me to come to you, just as Martha did, whenever I am burdened." Jonah 3:1-10

. . . Things happen when we repent.
Things happen when you get to love God.
I'm just now beginning to have a special feeling for His precious blood, like never before.
Because all my life I have believed in God, as some distant Creator Being we all know to exist, but never have I began to taste His blood as of late, and to honor how very precious it really is. And now, repentance is at the heart, but it took many confessions, many self exorcisms in Holy Confession, to get to even begin to appreciate His precious blood. How honored we are to have Holy Mass. How far has the world gone? We now need a deliverance in the world, because we have grown apart and astray from our Father God. Let us make a return. | We pray today:

from all their iniquities......"_ Do you know that the name Israel means "grappling/wrestling with God"?
And today we hear of Israel being at war until this day.
But we are Israel. We are the "People of God". This means the world is at war. Why do we wrestle with faith? Why do we struggle with belief? Why do we struggle to love God's blood and to give our blood for His to mingle with ours so that He would do His beautiful will in us and through us? | In the Gospel today we heard:
""Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me by myself to do the serving? Tell her to help me."
The Lord said to her in reply, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things.
There is need of only one thing.
Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her."......" end of Gospel verse. Let's hear these words for the 3rd time: "Lord DO YOU NOT CARE?". Can you believe we ask God these questions all the time? "Where were you when I most needed You!? This is always the hurt words from someone who didn't get their way, in their prayer. And from here, many turn around and walk away from our Lord, crucified on a cross. It's as if He could talk and say "I want to but I can't! Help me help you! I'm nailed to the cross because of your sins, therefore, I can't come into your heart and do as I please."
One of the images I struggle with sometimes is the Divine Mercy image, only because I prayed so much for my dad when he was literally dying, struggling to breathe for 40 days in the hospital, my dad who had never been to the hospital, and we loved so much, and then, our Lord whom I have seen on the cross, yet also dying. Aren't we healed through His wounds? Aren't we granted mercy when we plead to Him? Boy all these images hurt and leave a permanent image engraved in the soul.
And what happened in the end of my dad's life on earth? It was Covid. Family wasn't to be with him dying, was to die alone like countless others, but somehow we were all there in the room, my siblings and my mom, holding his hand, and praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet before 3pm, and this with one sister who claims not to be Catholic anymore.
Looking back, it is actually beautiful. A father, surrounded by his children and faithful wife, praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet for us and the whole world, a life offering, a sacrifice to God the Father in Heaven who has done the same for us. So how can I myself ask God if He does NOT CARE? It is us who do not care for Him.
We point the finger, don't we?
Our Lord said "of course I care...I am with those who choose to be with me!"
It is us that wonder off in worries and anxieties, pleasures, all things related to a self implosion.
Do you not care?
I'm working on loving God more, and in doing so, I'm working on my neighbors, all those people I meet to love God so much more.
It is because we don't care that there is so much darkness....cold bitterness...things apart from the Sacred Heart of Jesus. | ........Let us pray:
